London Underground Ltd. has announced that it plans to close 40 ticket offices with the loss of 240 staff positions.

This will make the Underground much less accessible to many people, as their ability to buy tickets face-to-face will be dramatically reduced.

It will also adversely affect the working lives and job prospects of thousands of Underground staff.
