This ruling came into force without consultation of traditional barometer makers of which there are only 2 left in the country and will therefore eventually cause the demise of a tradition going back 400 years. We use a small amount of mercury compared to the tons used in the manufacture of energy saving light bulbs which we are being forced to buy and dispose of where???????. We only use recycled mercury and recycle it ourselves again!
