Orangutans, believed to be our closest ancestors, will be extinct in less than ten years unless the destruction of their habitat is stopped. Palm oil plantations are the culprit, palm oil which is mainly a vanity ingredient, used to cut cholesterol.We should be eating better, not condeming a species to death for our own ends. Palm oil has also been put forward as a biofuel, in itself a danger to the environment and yet again, destruction of rain forests and a species for our own gain and ends.
