The proposed mine would be a short term measure that would eat into the Shropshire Hills AONB, cause destruction to parts of the Scheduled Ancient Monument at New Works, threaten flora and fauna at New Works Wood, part of one of the last areas of Ancient Woodland in Telford, disrupt badgers and other wildlife, risk polluting Lydebrook Dingle and destroy the site for future generations
